1. Origami Workshop

Origami and Napkin Folding for people at all levels, complete beginners right up to the most experienced artists.

Origami workshops for people of all ages and abilities provide a unique approach to educational play using the art of paper folding. We will teach you how to create pieces of art of various sizes from 10cm to 3 meters. Participants explore and collaborate using unique lessons, sample models and themed learning units.

Our workshop facilitator, Michaela Bertsch whose creations have being view around the world will demonstrate and share the techniques in origami. Michaela brings various forms of origami therapy and provides a relaxed environment for children of all ages. Her methods include relaxation, fun and mindfulness.
Tom Cuffe creates pieces of work based on mathematics and problem solving. Tom techniques explore various forms of folding for the inquisitive and challenging mind.
Both workshop facilitators have been chosen to demonstrate the very different styles and benefits of a simple and therapeutic pastime.

The workshops mission is to educate, by providing enjoyable experiences and encouraging active involvement for all. Two very different styles of workshops in origami are on offer. The times below list dates and time of both workshops. All workshops will be held in the Dunamaise Art Centre and the Methodist Church Community Hall Portlaoise.

2. Stage Performance Workshop

The Stage Performance Workshop will teach you how to control the stage and your audience. Make the stage feel like your home away from home with this hands-on program that features instruction from one of Ireland top instructors.
A series of Three Devised workshops. | 2-3hrs | 7pm - 10pm
Drama Facilitator / Practioner. Charmaine da Silva-Anderson
Aim:
• Develop physicality and awareness on the stage.
• Improve breathing techniques.
• Developing and improving voice production and enunciation.
• Developing creativity within the theatre space.
• Script reading and preparation.

Goal:
These workshops are designed to prepare the practitioner for a run of rehersals with a Theatre Production as an end result. Space Availabill: 15

3. Visual and Design Workshop

The visual design element in theatre, film and television has always played a major part in any production. The designer's role is crucial to the invention of the world that we see, from the recreation of a specific period in history, authentic present day, or the innovative sculptural design involved in light entertainment such as comedy, arts, music and festivals.
A series of Six workshops. | 2-3hrs | 7pm – 10pm

Aim:
• Develop Spacial awareness
• Visiting venues surveying.
• Floor Plans, Elevation and technical Drawing. 2D-3D
• Creating scale models.
• Presenting your Design, research and story boards.
• Prop Design / Prop making
• Materials and equipment.
• Stage Lighting and effects.
• Budgeting, costing and schedualing.
Goal:
